When installing firmware, I get the error message that
the installation was not completed correctly. What can I do?

It is probable that the firmware update did not proceed correctly or was terminated prematurely. It is advisable to reboot your router before trying again. You can do this by switching the router off and on using the on/off button on the router. In the case of routers without an on/off button, you can unplug the power adapter from the mains socket and then plug it back in. Wait 2 minutes until the router has fully rebooted and then try again.

Please note! To avoid problems, it is always advisable to perform a firmware update via a wired connection. You should therefore (temporarily) connect the desktop PC or notebook to the router via a network (UTP) cable. Do not forget to temporarily switch off the wireless receiver on your desktop PC or notebook.

If you get the same error message again, it is possible that the firmware file you are using may be corrupt. Download the file again from the Sitecom website. Make sure that you always download the correct file. Some products have different version numbers. Firmware for the WLR-4000 (product code) v1 001 (version number) will not work for a WLR-4000 v1 002. The version number can be found on the bottom of the router.

In addition, the firmware on the Sitecom site is often compressed in .ZIP format. To be able to upload the files to the router, it must be unzipped. Right-click on the .ZIP file and select Extract all

A folder will be created in which the file will be placed. This file will often have a .DLF or .BIN extension. That file should be used.
